Xavier won the Belgian Championship twice in Formula Ford. In 2002 he was also vice-Champion in the Benelux Championship.
Xavier started his racing career in cars with the Silverstone Racing School in 2000. In the same year he took 3rd place in the Junior Formula Ford Winter Series in Great Britain. He scored 1 podium in 4 races with the team of Speedlover.
2001 and 2002 Xavier took part in the Benelux Championship Formula Ford. He won the Belgian Championship twice in a row. In 2001 Xavier finished in 6th place in the Benelux Championship. He scored 2 podiums and 1 laprecord with Van Kalmthout Racing in a Van Diemen. The great succes came in 2002 with Geva Racing in a Mygale; with the Belgian title, Benelux Vice-Champion, 6 podiums, 1 pole-position and a win during the famous Marlboro Masters event.
Next to the races in Formula Ford, he won the Zolder Touring Cup with a Renault Clio together with his sponsor, Rob Frijns. With US Carworld Racing they took 3 wins and 4 podiums in 6 races. In the winter of 2002 Xavier took the next step in his career. In the Formula Renault 2000 Winter Championship he drove 2 races with 1 pole position and a ‘Autosport Star Drive’ nomination, together with AR Motorsport.
